Vraaja Yoga Koh Samui Thailand August 27 to September 3, 2023

Tommy and Lori are taking Vraaja Yoga™ to the beautiful island of Koh Samui, Thailand and we invite you to join us! We will be hosting a 8 day yoga retreat at Vikasa Resort, Vikasa is a Sanskrit word that means becoming visible, expanding and shining forth. It is a resort dedicated to yoga, health and wellness. Vikasa is situated on the east coast of Koh Samui where the weather is beautiful year around. The climate is tropical and high in both temperature and humidity. The average temperature is 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Some days you might find yourself in a refreshing tropical shower for a moment. The rain showers are often short and needed as the island’s water supplies are finite.

Reservations include:

  • Accommodations - all rooms come with air conditioning, mini fridge and free wifi.

  • 2 daily yoga classes taught by Tommy and Lori in an open air space with ocean views. Towels, yoga mats, blocks, straps and meditation cushions included.

  • Daily healthy brunch and dinner prepared by Vikasa’s Life Cafe.

What do I need to bring with me?

Towels will be available in each room including beach towels. A set of shampoos and soaps will be provided. Bring your required personal hygiene items but don’t worry if you forget something. There are plenty of shops you can buy practically anything on Koh Samui. Please note there are no hairdryers in the rooms so please bring your own if you need one.
Comfortable clothes that are easy to wash will be great for yoga. Otherwise, you won’t need much more than t-shirts, shorts, light dresses, flip flops and comfortable shoes to hike in. The temperature rarely drops below 75 degrees Fahrenheit, even at night, so no sweaters or parkas needed. Don’t forget your sunblock and bathing suit!

Are there Mosquitoes?

Vikasa premises is sprayed against mosquitos once a week, but you can not fight nature. Just remember to close your room door during sunrise and sunset hours when they are usually most active. Mosquito repellants are available free of charge in Vikasa and you can find them in any pharmacy or 7-11 which are many on the island.

Do I need to bring money?

Local currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht. You don’t need to bring a lot of cash with you. The banking infrastructure is well developed on Koh Samui. There are safe and reliable ATM’s on every corner that accept all types of cards, VISA and Mastercard preferred. You can also exchange your home currency at any bank easily. There is an ATM on Vikasa premises as well.

What about laundry?

Laundry service is outsourced with a next day delivery in most of the cases. Rates for doing laundry are very cheap however, as we are using outside service providers please try to avoid bringing expensive clothes just to be on the safe side.
